Not affiliated by the NY and London nightclubs that go by the same name, this Bungalow 8 is part of Sydney’s gargantuan Kings Street Wharf. A series of eateries that include Nick’s and Wagamama housed inside a waterfront architectural development, Kings Street Wharf patrons find a playful attitude-free dining environment that’s more of a restaurant by day and lounge bar by night. Outside, a large terrace offer waterfront drinking scene and vantage point for holiday fireworks and occasional drunken brawl.

Bungalow 8 is no cozy pub, it can easily accommodate upwards of 1,000 people on busier weekend nights. A massive oblong bar rounds its way through the center of the main room with shiny metal top and tattooed bartenders with bulging biceps and complicated hair. A ceiling of shiny rods is suspended in rice paper lanterns with amber lighting that gives the space a Zen eastern vibe that evaporates once the DJ starts blaring lounge and pop rock tracks.
